This master thesis contains a survey about topology management and
routing in wireless networks. The thesis briefly discusses several
important and common problems and then presents some current
solutions.

The main task for Topology Management is the exploration of
different network structures. Furthermore, it concerned with how
and where the different nodes are located and which communication
technology is used in the wireless environment.

Routing in such networks deals with the data exchange between
dofferent nodes. The problems appear, whenever a direct communication
between the source and the destination is impossible. In this case
some other nodes have to relay the information from the source to
the destination.
